Mechanical engineer graduated 32 years ago.
Joined the wood based panels industry since 30 years ago, when he was hired to build the Industrial
Projects team from Duratex.
He was the last engineer hired by the company which since the start of his rights and jobs spent in
training at the main sectors related to the productive chain (log yard, log processing, particles
preparation, energy/heating plant, drying, particles classification, glueing, forming, pressing,
intermediate storage, calibration/finishing, final storage, warehouse, Planning and Production Control
(PCP), Planning and Storage Control (PCE), physical-chemical laboratory and maintenance. He also followed
the daily routines at the resin plant for production of urea-phormoldehyde and melamine-phormoldehyde
resins, paper impregnation and covering with finish foil and melamine papers.
This stage of his carreer was essential for creation of a solid basis of knowledge for application always
when required for performance of his attributions.
During the nearly 10 years he served Duratex, he
participated actively in technical and commercial project meetings with the foreign suppliers together
with the Industrial Directory in São Paulo, advising the Executive Manager of Engineering and Development.

His interest and initiative in elaborating studies for feasibility and capability, mass balances, flow/process
diagrams, layout proposals and suggestions for the most possible result of the projects led him to take, with less
than 4 years in the company, his first management position within the organization.
Contributed with his knowledge, creativity, ease of relationship with the colleagues and experience for
concretion of 22 medium and big size projects, since the basic conception till the implementation.
After this period, which still included international trips for technical meetings in Italy, visits and
fairs in Germany, he was invited on 2004 by Nikolaus Reisky to work with him for Inserco.
Among the challanges of this new stage in his carreer there was:
- to increase the sales volume from Inserco
- to conquest new customers in this and other business segments
- to make available a reliable and consistent to the customers requirements.
In order to overcome these challenges, on february 2005 he was under a 2 weeks training in several of his
relevant technology suppliers for this segment, represented by Inserco in the whole Latin America
(Brandenburger, DelleVedove, Dieffenbacher, Hueck Rheinische, Imeas, Pallmann, Schenckmann-Piel,
Vits and Wemhöner).
With this, he could introduce himself to the new contact persons as a Professional which already had a wide
experience with engineering involving industrial projects, installation of individual equipments, installation
of new production lines, dimensioning of equipments, analysis of technical and commercial offers, and that
could also contribute during the negotiations for the sale of these machineries, spare and wear parts.
Among the main goals reached during these 4 years and 5 months, it has to be highlighted:
- Sales increase of 225% in wear and spare parts, by means of big value orders and conquest of new customers and
the wood industry as well in new segments (rubber and plastic).
- bigger contribution in the sales volume of Inserco of companies like Berneck, Eucatex and Fibraplac.
- in the tyre and rubber parts for mining and automotive industries, he contributed with his persistent work,
good and reliable technical argumentation to consolidated the name of Inserco as a supplier of companies like
Bridgestone Firestone, Continental, Correias Mercúrio, Hutchinson and Pirelli.
- and mainly, the success obtained with the customers and suppliers for making the following
business/orders:
-
|
MDP production plant (Masisa in Montenegro/RS)
|
-
|
MDF/T-HDF production plant (Eucatex in Salto/SP)
|
-
|
Melamine covering lines (Satipel in Taquari/RS, Berneck in Araucária/PR, Eucatex in Salto/SP and Satipel
in Uberaba/MG, in chronological order
|
-
|
calibrating/finishing line (Eucatex in Salto/SP)
|
-
|
impregnating line, and calibrating/finishing line (Fibraplac in Glorinha/RS)
|
-
|
electrostatic precipitator (Arauco in Curitiba/PR).
|
Due to the evolution of his carreer along these years, he created an image of respect, reliability and
professionalism before the engineers, supervisors, purchasers, managers, directors and presidents of the companies
customers from Inserco.
Among the executives of the board of the companies with which he did business, he stablished a solid and confident
relationship with the President of the Eucatex group, Mr. Flavio Maluf, who at the middle of 2009, invited Marcel
to become the Production Manager of the T-HDF line, whose works were being taken up at construction site, after
the worst period of the finantial world crisis was gone, even Marcel not having experience on this position, a
sign of the confidence and trust deposited on him during the years of the business done between Eucatex and our
suppliers.
The main goal of the arrival from Marcel to the company was to institute a new way of thinking and act, that could
change the existing culture inside the organization, out of the state of the art standards; building a
differentiated team so that the new line could be stablishted since the beginning of operation aht the same
competitiveness and quality level of the competitors already stablished in the market.
His job at Eucatex started on 2nd.september.2009, from when joined groups for other tasks inside the site located
in Salto-SP, contributing for the discussions of the better solutions for the operational needings.
After this initial task phocused on the sustainability of the existing plant, which last approximately 6 months,
he turned his attention to the structuration of the entire production team of the T-HDF line, meeting periodically
with the Industrial Director and the Presidence of the company, until the consolidation of the organogram, from
the management up to the operational level.
The forming of this differentiated team started at the supervision level, where were assigned to occupy the lead
positions of the main areas (group of equipments) the professionals from Eucatex that came following the project
during the entire implementation and others which already had experience with panel production, otherwise would be
possible the operation with a shorter learning curve, supporting even the Prodution Manager.
These supervisors (named “Area Supervisors”) supported the Production Manager during the whole process for
definition of the profiles required for each function, selection of the resumés and interviews, until the
definition and hiring of the shift supervisors and employees of the operational level (operators and
auxiliaries/assistants).
After the whole process which last 6 months, the new employees got na intensive load of trainings, already phocused
on the new qualification and desired operational model for operation of the line desired by the board of
the company.
Among the several applied trainings (metrology, machine elements, statistic process control –SPC, and others), the
management, supervision and operation got an introductory training about the Lean TPM methodology, for a better
accompaniment of the state of the equipaments, and the respective maintenance, helping with this for obtaining
the maximum availability and performance of the production line.
The T-HDF line produced its 1st. board (traditional milestone at this industry segment) on 27th.oct.2010, as shown
by the photos below:
On april.2012 Marcel joined Siemens in Jundiaí as Senior Development Engineer, a position which he never had,
therefore, challenging.
